Quick Start Leadership Program Offered at Penn College

Friday, September 7, 2012

High-performing individuals are often tapped for leadership roles with little or no training in effective leadership.

A program offered by Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology assists individuals in launching their leadership careers and facilitates leadership teams by presenting common approaches to issues leaders may face.

WDCE will present the first series in its Quick Start Leadership program beginning Sept. 19.

Each series in the Quick Start Leadership program consists of five training sessions (two hours each). The first series includes Transitioning Into Your New Leadership Role, Understanding and Developing Your Leadership Style, Communicating Critical Job Information, and Performing Legally and Ethically.

The sessions will run on Sept. 19 and 26 and Oct. 3, 10 and 17. The program will be offered at the Center for Business & Workforce Development on the college’s main campus in Williamsport. The courses can also be customized and delivered at employers’ locations.

Instructor Eric Bergstrom is an experienced leader of organization development, human resource management and manufacturing/operations management. Bergstrom has more than 20 years of industry experience and holds a Bachelor of Science and Master of Education in training and development, as well as a Ph.D. in workforce education and development from The Pennsylvania State University.
