College Names Dean of Industrial and Engineering Technologies

William E. Mack has been named dean of industrial and engineering technologies at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
Mack, who had served as assistant dean of the School of Industrial and Engineering Technologies since February 2009, began his new duties on July 1.
His career in technical education spans 29 years including serving as a professor of electronic engineering technology, as well as various administrative duties. He also worked as an engineer at Westinghouse Electric Corp. and served 20 years in the Pennsylvania Army National Guard.
He brings experience in teaching, assessment, curriculum development, faculty recruitment and evaluation, budget development and management, equipment acquisition, building construction and renovation, academic advising, governance, dual enrollment, and distance education.
Mack holds a Master of Engineering Science/Digital Systems from Loyola College (now Loyola University Maryland), Baltimore. He earned a bachelor’s degree in electrical design engineering technology from The Pennsylvania State University.
“Bill Mack has a proven record as an excellent academic administrator,” said Paul L. Starkey, vice president for academic affairs/provost. “His experiences, particularly with accreditation and curriculum development, will be of great value to Penn College.
