Magazine Ranks Two Graduates Among Top 'Green' Professionals

Monday, July 30, 2012

Justin H. Bentz and Travis M. Breininger, alumni of Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Natural Resources Management, are profiled in the July/August issue of Pennsylvania Landscape & Nursery magazine.

The magazine has been featuring a yearlong series of the green industry’s most promising leaders under the age of 40, and Bentz and Breininger earned the top spot for the summer issue.

Bentz serves as president and Breininger as vice president of Nature’s Accents Landscape Services in Hamburg.

The bimonthly magazine reaches multiple markets; is read widely by industry professionals; and features articles on business and horticultural technology, advocacy, education, and association information.

The two were recognized for their “strong work ethic, notable talent and a clear vision for how to grow a successful business.” The two transferred to Penn College in Fall 1999 and graduated with an associate degree in landscape/nursery technology in 2001.

Bentz and Breininger were also in the PCToday limelight in July 2010 when they were involved in “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition," and in May 2011 when they received Alumni Achievement Awards during spring commencement exercises.

The two top professionals also returned to their alma mater during last spring's collegewide Open House, helping to judge high school students in the Field Days competition coordinated by faculty in the landscape/horticulture major.
