Watson Named Assistant Dean of Integrated Studies-Programs

Paul R. Watson IIPaul R. Watson II has been named assistant dean of programs in the School of Integrated Studies at Pennsylvania College of Technology.

Prior to his appointment as assistant dean of integrated studies-programs, Watson served as director of mathematics and general education in the School of Integrated Studies at the college.

"Paul Watson brings a wealth of experience and enthusiasm to his work at Penn College," said Paul L. Starkey, vice president for academic affairs/provost. "He is an accomplished, innovative educator and a great addition to our leadership team."

Before joining the staff at Penn College, Watson coordinated mathematics instruction and curriculum at Jefferson Central School in Jefferson, N.Y. He has taught mathematics full time at Houghton College and part time at Genesee Community College and the SUNY campuses at Cobleskill and Oneonta.

"Paul Watson brings a wonderful combination of higher education teaching experience and leadership and prior administrative background in public education to his appointment as assistant dean," said Clifford P. Coppersmith, dean of integrated studies. "He is an excellent addition to the Integrated Studies team."

Watson holds a master's degree from the University of Rochester in education and curriculum and a master's from Syracuse University in mathematics instruction.

He has completed graduate credits in public education administration and leadership from Massachusetts College of Liberal Arts. He completed a bachelor's degree in mathematics at Houghton College.
