Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Pennsylvania College of Technology will present the first series in its Operational Leader Program beginning March 15.
Operational leaders are those responsible for the day-to-day operation of a function within an organization, as well as helping to develop, communicate and implement strategic plans within the specific function.
Each series in the noncredit Operational Leader Program consists of three half days (four hours each) of training. Series I sessions are Leading in Turbulent Times: An Introduction to Operational Leadership, Building Emotional Intelligence Through the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator, and Building and Implementing Internal and External Communication Strategies.
The sessions will be offered March 15, March 29 and April 12 at the Center for Business & Workforce Development on Penn College's main campus in Williamsport.
Participants may choose to continue with Series II in Fall 2012 and Series III in Spring 2013.
The program instructor, Eric Bergstrom, is an experienced leader of organization development, human resource management and manufacturing/operations management, with more than 20 years of industry experience. He holds a Ph.D. in workforce education and development from The Pennsylvania State University, as well as master's and bachelor's degrees in training and development.
