Creative Work of Students, Staff Displayed in Dauphin Hall

Whitnie-Rae Mays, an advertising art student from Reading (and a student photographer for College Information & Community Relations, with her photo '10:22,' one of seven entries honored in the Dauphin Hall Photo Contest at Pennsylvania College of Technology. The creative spirit of Pennsylvania College of Technology students and staff is again on display on campus this time in Dauphin Hall, the college's newest residence hall.

The recent "Dauphin Hall Photo Contest," an initiative of the Residence Life Office, yielded numerous entries of abstract campus scenes, with seven photographs selected to be professionally printed, framed and permanently displayed on the first floor of the residence hall.

Each piece is accompanied by a small plaque providing viewers with the image's title and artist. The artwork can be seen in Dauphin Hall's first-floor hallway and common lounge.

Taylor C. Dodson's 'Victorian in Black and White' The images include the works of two current students: "Victorian in Black and White," by Taylor C. Dodson, a graphic communications technology student from Montoursville; and "10:22," by Whitnie-Rae Mays, an advertising art student from Reading.

'Dirty Triangle,' by Ashby D. Haines Also featured is a photograph by a former student "Dirty Triangle," by Ashby D. Haines, of Westminster, Md., information technology-network specialist concentration.

Jodi L. Binkley has two photos on display, including 'Vessel Collage.' Also represented by two pieces is Noelle B. Bloom, whose 'Reflections' is part of the Dauphin collection.Two staff members have two images each on display: "ACC in Spring" and "Vessel Collage," by Jodi L. Binkley, early childhood lab assistant and a 2008 early childhood education graduate; and "Reflections" and "Spring Day," by Noelle B. Bloom, assistant director II, Dining Services.

"Residence Life is proud to be able to showcase the artistic talents of students, faculty and staff," said Brian M. Johnson, director of Residence Life. "The photographs have added warmth and substance for all to enjoy!"
