The nearly five-minute video profiles Corey A. Shank, of Chambersburg, who graduated in May with a bachelor's degree in construction management.

The video follows Shank during his senior project development class, which required students to design a new athletic facility for campus. Working as part of a four-person group, Shank and his classmates performed all the design, estimating and scheduling work for the project before presenting their findings to faculty from the School of Construction and Design Technologies and members of the college's athletics department.

Shank accurately describes the construction management major as a "management degree with a construction emphasis." According to the Bureau of Labor Statistics, employment for construction managers is projected to grow by 17 percent during the 2008-18 decade, which is faster than the average for all occupations.

During his time at Penn College, Shank served as a Presidential Student Ambassador, Community Assistant and Resident Assistant, and he was an active member of the Construction Management Association and Campus Crusade for Christ.

He received the Construction Management Faculty Award, presented to a graduate who has demonstrated exceptional leadership, professionalism, perseverance, participation, work ethic and commitment to the construction management field.

The Penn College YouTube Channel has received more than 214,000 video views since its debut in 2009. The channel focuses on numerous majors and various aspects of the college. It also includes full-length episodes of the college's award-winning, career-awareness public television series, "degrees that work.tv."
