Freshman Adam Smith (Duncannon) and sophomore Caleb Wise (Manheim) of the Pennsylvania College of Technology tennis team earned Penn State University Athletic Conference All-Conference honors Monday.
The team is comprised of nine men and women student-athletes from around the conference and is voted on by each institution's coaches. This is the first all-conference honor for both Smith and Wise.
In his rookie campaign, Smith finished at an impressive 5-3 in singles and 7-1 in doubles in the regular season. He made it to the finals in men's first singles at the PSUAC championships losing to Steve James of Penn State Brandywine. Smith teamed up with Wise in men's first doubles and also made it to the championships, losing to Penn State Brandywine.
Wise was impressive in the regular season at men's fourth flight, going 5-2. At the championships, he made a run to the finals and was just edged out by fellow all-conference selection Kevin Kelleher ofPenn StateBrandywine. He was 3-2 in men's doubles in the regular season and made a notable run to the finals with Smith.
Smith and Wise helped lead a Wildcat squad that finished second in the season and at the championships.
