Wednesday, November 2, 2011

A recent forest technology graduate of Pennsylvania College of Technology and a current student in the same major in the School of Natural Resources Management have been awarded scholarships from the Council of Eastern Forest Technician Schools for their 4.0 GPAs.

May 2011 graduate Lance E. Armstrong, of Muncy, and Matthew R. Crosbie, of Cogan Station, were among the scholarship recipients chosen from CEFTS member institutions, which include dozens of schools with forest technology programs.

"It is an honor to be recognized for classroom performance," Crosbie said. "I have been enjoying my forestry course work, and receiving this award is just an added bonus."

Three other students were cited for their academic performance: James W. Daniels, of Williamsport; Molly G. Goldsmith, of Liberty; and Angela N. Poleto, of Lock Haven, all were named to the CEFTS Honor Society.

CEFTS aims to improve the quality of forestry technician education across the nation and encourages the exchange of ideas, academic integrity and productive relationships among its members.
