Dental Hygiene Director Serves on AHEC Board of Directors

Shawn A. KiserThe director of the dental hygiene program at Pennsylvania College of Technology recently began his tenure on the Northcentral Pennsylvania Area Health Education Center Board of Directors.

Shawn A. Kiser was appointed to a three-year term on the board, during which he will also serve on the center's personnel committee.

The Northcentral Area Health Education Center is a government-funded, not-for-profit organization consisting of service-oriented staff, board members and community partners whose goal is to provide and promote health-care education to underserved communities through the recruitment and retention of health-care providers and the development of a quality workforce. The goal is accomplished through clinical and nonclinical programming, collaboration with other organizations, and advocating for access to quality health care in all communities.

Headquartered in Wellsboro, the center serves communities in 10 northcentral Pennsylvania counties: Centre, Clinton, Columbia, Lycoming, Mifflin, Montour, Northumberland, Snyder, Tioga and Union.

Kiser holds associate and bachelor's degrees from Penn College and a master's degree from The Pennsylvania State University. He earned a graduate certificate in distance education and is a graduate of the American Dental Education Association Allied Dental Leadership Program.
