A Pennsylvania College of Technology instructor recently presented a paper at the annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Sociological Society.
Richard Sahn, instructor of sociology, presented "The Precarious Existence of Academic Tenure Today and the Rise of Neo-Fascism." His presentation explored how and why tenure at colleges and universities is under attack and his assertion of a connection between the inclination to abolish tenure with an extreme right-wing agenda.
The annual meeting of the Pennsylvania Sociological Society was held Sept. 30 to Oct. 1 at Seton Hill University, Greensburg. The society has been serving Pennsylvania sociology faculty, students, researchers and other professionals for 61 years.
Sahn holds a doctorate in sociology. He teaches in the college's School of Integrated Studies.
