North Campus to Offer Computer, Digital-Photography Courses

Adults 55 and older who want to learn more about using computers for fun or for digital photography may enroll in noncredit courses being offered at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro.

The easy beginners' classes, offered through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College, introduce the computer for enjoyment purposes. No computer knowledge is necessary to enroll.

The basic computer class will be held from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays, Sept. 21 and 28, in the North Campus computer lab. The instructor will lead participants through entertaining games, emailing friends and family, surfing the Internet, buying and selling merchandise on eBay, basic word-processing for letter writing, and other enjoyable and practical applications. The class is fun and paced for the novice. The cost is $79.

A basic digital-photography class will be offered from 9 a.m. to noon on Wednesdays, Oct. 5 and 12. Learn about types of digital cameras, transferring images to a computer, scanning photos and adjusting pictures. Also addressed will be how to send and receive photos via email. The cost for the class is $59.

The North Campus is located on Route 6 between Wellsboro and Mansfield. Convenient street-level and handicap-accessible parking is available at the rear of the building.
