Pennsylvania College of Technology will hold a commencement ceremony Saturday, Aug. 6, for more than 230 students who have petitioned to graduate after the college's summer sessions.
The ceremony will begin at 11 a.m. in the Community Arts Center, 220 W. Fourth St., Williamsport.
Kenneth B. Kephart, of State College, has been selected as the student speaker for the ceremony. He will be awarded a certificate in paramedic technician from the School of Health Sciences. Kephart is a professor of animal science in the Department of Dairy and Animal Science at The Pennsylvania State University. He also serves as a volunteer emergency medical technician with CentreLife Link EMS, State College. He holds a Ph.D., a master's degree and a bachelor's degree in animal industries from Penn State.
During the ceremony, the college will present a Mentorship Award, which recognizes alumni or businesses that have made significant or ongoing contributions to the education and development of Penn College students.
Degrees will be conferred by Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour, accompanied by Robert E. Dunham, chairman of the college's Board of Directors.
