Penn College junior Garrett Hornung (Emporium) was named the Penn State University Athletic Conference Baseball Player of the Week for the period ending April 17. Hornung hit .636 (7-11) with three doubles, five RBI and 10 runs. He helped the Wildcats to a 3-1 week, sweeping Penn State York and splitting with Penn State Mont Alto. This is Hornung's first PSUAC honor this season. He is batting .340 (18-53) in 19 games with seven doubles, 13 RBI and 17 runs. Next up,he will travel with Penn College on Wednesday for a conference doubleheader at Penn State Hazleton to begin at 2 p.m.
