Pennsylvania College of Technology's director of radiography recently served as a reviewer for a radiographic technology textbook.
Robert Slothus completed a review of "Principles of Radiographic Imaging: An Art and a Science, Fifth Edition." He offered insight on the book's content and format. The book, written by Richard R. Carlton and Arlene M. Adler, is scheduled to be published in August by Delmar Cengage Learning.
The textbook is written for courses in principles of radiographic exposure. The content of the book covers most of the imaging technologies used in the profession, Slothus said.
"I've been teaching Principles of Radiographic Exposure to students since 1979, and reviewing the fifth edition of Carlton's book has offered me additional insight into teaching our four existing imaging courses," Slothus said.
Slothus has taught at Penn College for 32 years and holds the rank of associate professor. He received a master's degree in health education from The Pennsylvania State University and a bachelor's degree in radiologic technology from Thomas Jefferson University. He has been a registered and certified radiographer with the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists since 1975 and a member of the American Society of Radiologic Technologists since 1977.
