The six graduating seniors on the Penn College men's volleyball team Brad Bell, Andrew Epley, Colin Grube, Jared Palko, Philip Reist and Matthew Stoltz all were honored by head coach Wes Strayer prior to their Saturday game against an alumni squad. Bell, a graphic design major from Harrisburg, is in his fourth season for the Wildcats. Strayer recalled his ability to stay positive and adjust to changing positions on the team. Epley, a computer aided product design major from Littlestown, came to the team as a sophomore. Characterized by his coach as a strong leader and presence on the court, he also was recognized for helping the team in nationals last year. Grube, a forest technology student from Trucksville in his second year on the team, has improved so much and will be remembered as the jokester on the team. Palko, an automotive technology major from Waymart and another four-year member of the team, was celebrated for his consistent improvement on defense and for his back-row attack. Reist, a aanufacturing engineering technology major from Washington Boro, also is a four-year member. His intensity and hustle on the court are second to none, the coach said, even when he played on a broken bone. The team also paid tribute to Stoltz, a physician assistant major from DuBois. He has been with the team for four years, but, due to conflicts with rotations in his major, had to miss a significant amount of this season. The alumni defeated the Penn College team, 3-1, in an exciting upset. Photos by Jami L. Hughes, coordinator of intercollegiate athletics and sports information
