Penn College senior Greg Solyak (Lititz) was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Division II Player of the Week for the period ending Feb. 6. Solyak averaged 23 points in a 2-0 week for the Wildcats. In the win over No. 9 Penn State Wilkes-Barre, he broke the Penn College men's basketball all-time scoring record. He followed that performance with 28 points and shooting a perfect six-for-six from beyond the arc in a victory over No. 13 Penn State-DuBois. Solyak was an honorable mention for the same honor for the week ending Jan. 9. This season, he leads the team in three-point field-goal percentage (.375) and is second on the team in scoring (17.7 points per game). Solyak and the Wildcats will continue conference play when they host Penn State Scranton at 7 p.m. Wednesday.
