Joiner Named 'Player of Week' for Second Time This Season

Leroy Joiner Penn College junior Leroy Joiner, of Williamsport, was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association Men's Basketball Division II Co-Player of the Week for the period ending Jan. 16. In a 1-1 week for the Wildcats, Joiner averaged 22.5 points and 11.5 rebounds, while shooting .545 from the field. In both games, he recorded "double-doubles" to bring his season total to 11. This is Joiner's second Player of the Week honor this season, having earned the award on Nov. 30. He leads Penn College in almost all statistical categories, including scoring (21.8 points per game) and rebounding (12.3 per game). Joiner and the Wildcats will continue conference play Wednesday when they travel to Penn State Scranton for a 7 p.m. game. Visit online for more athletics news and updates.
