Speaker's Loss Fuels Call to Action in Commemoration of King's Legacy

Lonise P. Bias, a motivational speaker spurred to community activism by the tragic deaths of her sons including Len, a University of Maryland basketball player who died shortly after being drafted by the Boston Celtics aimed a beacon of optimism, triumph and self-esteem at her Penn College audience Monday night. "Living Beyond the Dream: A Message of Hope for Families, Communities and the Nation," held in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium and sponsored by the college's Cultural Life Committee, keynoted the three-day campus observance of the Martin Luther King Jr. holiday.
