Four Penn College Men's Soccer Players All-Conference

Four members of the Penn State University Athletic Conference-championship Pennsylvania College of Technology men's soccer team earned First Team All-Conference honors and Chris Brennan (New Hope) was named Newcomer of the Year.

Brennan also was a first-team honoree, along with Seth Rearick (Watsontown), Patrick Masango (Cameroon) and Tristan Smith (Bermuda).

The Wildcats finished 16-4 overall, winning their sixth conference title in seven years with an 11-0 record, and placed among the top four in the United State Collegiate Athletic Association national tournament.

FLASHBACK Men's Basketball On Monday, the Wildcats fell to Arcadia College, 80-68, despite a 23-point, 19-rebound effort by Leroy Joiner (Williamsport). Penn College outrebounded Arcadia, 55-42, but shot only 35 percent from the field. Greg Solyak (Lititz) led the Wildcats in scoring with 26 points.

During the first half of Friday's game against NCAA Division III Susquehanna University in the Pepsi/Weis Markets Tip-Off Tournament in Selinsgrove, Penn College played tough, trailing just 41-33. But Susquehanna erupted for 51 second-half points and went on to win, 92-60. Joiner led Penn College with 18 points; Solyak added 12.

On Saturday in the tournament consolation game against Bridgewater State (Mass.) University, the Wildcats fell, 109-78, to drop to 0-4. Joiner led Penn College scorers with 20 points and Solyak added 13, moving him into second place on the college men's all-time scoring list with 1,198 points. He passed Craig Flint, who scored 1,196 pointsduring 2005-09, and trails leader Joe Simon, who graduated after last season with 1,425 points. For his effort in the two tournament games, Joiner was named to the All-Tournament Team. He now is fourth on the college men's all-time scoring list with 1,103 points, having passed Bobby String's 1,022 and Tony Flint's 1,043. String played from 1998-2000 and Flint from 2002-05.

Women's Basketball Tuesday at NCAA Division III Lycoming College, the Wildcats fell behind 42-20 at the half and lost 89-46. Kierstin Steer (South Williamsport) led Penn College with 16 points and six rebounds.

Against Davis College on Thursday, Penn College raced to a 40-22 halftime lead en route to a 71-32 victory. Steer led the scoring parade with 16 points and Casey Braun (Hughesville) added 10 points and 12 rebounds.

On Saturday at Pitt-Titusville, Hilary Rice (Biglerville) scored 17 points in a 71-56 loss that evened the team's record at 2-2.
