Record-Setting Shedden Chosen as Conference's Top Cross-Country Runner for Week
Tuesday, October 12, 2010
Freshman Jake Shedden, of Canton, was named the United States Collegiate Athletic Association's Cross-Country Player of the Week for the period ending Oct. 10. Shedden, a graduate of North Penn High School, won and set a course record at the Albright Invitational on Oct. 9 with a time of 27:27 in the 8K race. The Wildcats placed second overall. While a rookie, this is Shedden's second time setting a course record this season. He won (and set the course record at) the Penn State Scranton Invitational on Sept. 18, when Penn College also won the team competition. Shedden and the Wildcats will be back in action Saturday when they travel to Wilkes-Barre for the Luzerne County Community College/Penn College Invitational.
