Junior/Senior 'Powder Puff' Team Easily Handles Underclass Opponents

Saturday, October 9, 2010

Juniors/seniors dominate Powder Puff playThe freshmen/sophomore team came into Friday's Homecoming Powder Puff Football game with only 12 players, a week of organized practice, new coaches and huge hearts. The older team dominated the game from the start, but not once did any player or coach from the underclasses complain, get upset or stop trying, said intramural assistant Jeremy R. Bottorf, who provided this game summary: Michelle Goodling connected on a touchdown pass with Kerry Weber as time expired in the first quarter to give the juniors/seniors a 7-0 lead. Soon, Alyse Poswiatowsky ran an interception back to extend that lead to 14-0. Things would only go better for the junior/senior team as it dipped in the playbook; Amanda Reedy took the fake snap and ran untouched into the end zone to make the game 21-0. Michelle Perkins and Ashley Beatty added a rushing touchdown each and crowd favorite Amanda Allanah added two scores to give the juniors/seniors a 42-0 victory. Bottorf offered a "huge thank you" to everyone who participated; to Corey Flynn, Greg Solyak and Donnie Stevenson for refereeing; Dylan Lackey and Matthew Strayer for working the chains; and Russell Blankenship for running the clock.
