Lady Wildcats Do Battle Against Cancer, Celebrate Graduating Teammate

'Pink Out' raises public consciousness about breast cancer Senior Jennifer DeLosa is joined by family members at midcourt Samantha Davis (13) and Ashley Matson (15) during Saturday's matchThe Penn College women's volleyball team helped raise awareness of breast cancer in a weekend match that also honored its lone graduating senior. The team (with the help of Kristi L. Hammaker, health and fitness specialist; volleyball coach Bambi A. Hawkins and assistant coach Amber L. Dreese) led a Pink Out for Cancer Awareness in which fans and players dressed in pink including T-shirts tie-dyed at an earlier event. A total of $80 was collectedin a 50-50 fundraiser for donation to the American Cancer Society. During the afternoon's Senior Day festivities, Jennifer DeLosa was honored as a "one-of-a-kind wonderful person" whose "solid volleyball skills have made her a go-to person." A business administration: management concentration major from Bellefonte, she was escorted by her parents, Peter and Lois DeLosa, and grandparents Peter and Peggy DeLosa. Photos by Jami L.
