Thursday, July 8, 2010

The practical nursing program at Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus is scheduling pre-admission testing for the January 2011 class. The first day of class is scheduled for Jan. 3.

The 12-month practical nursing program is offered through Workforce Development & Continuing Education at Penn College. Students attend classes at the North Campus near Wellsboro and have clinical experiences at Laurel Health System facilities including Soldiers and Sailors Memorial Hospital and the Green Home. If there is sufficient enrollment from Potter County, clinical experiences are scheduled at Charles Cole Memorial Hospital facilities.

Excellent career opportunities for graduates exist in area hospitals, clinics, nursing homes, personal-care facilities and human-service organizations. The North Campus program is fully approved by the Pennsylvania State Board of Nursing and is accredited by the National League for Nursing Accrediting Commission. Students who successfully complete the program are eligible to take the National Council Licensure Exam (NCLEX-PN) for licensure as an LPN.
