Former Professional Ballplayer Helps Honor Wildcat Women

This year's featured speaker, with a message of "Always follow your dreams," was Sarah Jane "Salty" Sands Ferguson, a member of the All-American Girls Professional Baseball League. who played for the Rockford Peaches in 1953-54. A native of Orangeville and graduate of Bloomsburg High School, Ferguson had a part in the 1992 film "A League of Their Own" and (among her many appearances) threw out the first ball at the 2007 Little League World Series.
