College Names Mathematics and General Education Director

Pennsylvania College of Technology recently appointed a director of mathematics and general education in the School of Integrated Studies.
Joanna K. Pruden, an assistant professor of mathematics and previously the mathematics department head, began the new duties on March 15.
Among her responsibilities, she will coordinate the math-placement process for incoming students; oversee the operations of the Test Center, as well as supervise its staff; and evaluate and develop full- and part-time faculty. She will also coordinate department and School of Integrated Studies general-education assessment efforts with the Office of Assessment, Research and Planning.
Pruden joined the faculty at Penn College in 2003 and became department head of mathematics in 2008. She has teaching experience at Gulliver Preparatory School in Miami and at the University of Miami's School of Business. She holds master's and bachelor's degrees from the University of Miami.
