A crowd gathers at sunset Grasping for the elusive flag A powerhouse run Teams mix it up onfield Aerial attack Sunday's Powder Puff Football game proved to be one of the highest-scoring in the short history of the event at Penn College. Rose Street/College West jumped to an early 7-0 lead on a touchdown run by Steph Karoullas and Caroline Matter picked off a pass from The Village/Campus View team to go up 14-0. The celebration was short-lived, however, as Jess Houser connected on a touchdown pass with Kat Potocek on the final play of the half to cut the Rose Street/College West lead in two. The third quarter saw both teams drive up and down the field but no one scored to keep the game at 14-7 in favor of Rose Street/College West after three quarters. The Village/Campus View team struck first blood in the fourth, as Houser delivered a touchdown pass to Kelsey Brown to tie the game at 14. The comeback was brief, though: Rose Street/College West scored again on a pass from Porsche Hoffman to Melinda Fake to make the score 21-14 in its favor. Rose Street/College West literally "faked out"its opponents in the final minutes on a reverse that saw Hoffman hand off the ball to Karoullas and Karoullas hand off to Fake, who ran downfield for the score with only the College Avenue Labs in front of her. That's how it would remain until the end of the game: Rose Street/College West, 28, and The Village/Campus View, 14. Game recap by Jeremy R.
