A free workshop to help families and counselors understand how to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) will be offered Saturday, Feb. 14, at Pennsylvania College of Technology.
The workshop will begin at 10 a.m. and conclude at 12:30 p.m. in Room 1049 of the Student and Administrative Services Center.
The event is sponsored by the Financial Aid Office at Penn College, the Pennsylvania Higher Education Assistance Agency and the Pennsylvania Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators.
The FAFSA is required by colleges and universities to determine if students are eligible for scholarships, federal and state grants, and student and parent loans.
The financial-aid process can be daunting. The primary goal of the workshop is to make sure that this first step to financial aid is completed accurately so that funds can be made available to students pursuing higher education.
Parents and students attending any college or university are invited to receive free assistance in understanding how to complete the FAFSA. Students who are 23 or younger should attend with a parent or guardian.
The event has been well-attended in previous years. To register or to obtain additional information, call (570) 327-4766 or e-mail.
