Friday, October 3, 2008

Pennsylvania College of Technology student Bradley J. Stroup was recently named recipient of a $3,000 scholarship from the Society of Plastics Engineers Foundation.

Stroup, a junior plastics and polymer engineering technology major from Mount Pleasant Mills, was awarded the foundation's Injection Molding Division Scholarship for 2008-09. Applicants for this annual award must have experience in the injection molding industry.

An active member in the Society of Plastics Engineers student chapter at Penn College, Stroup headed a team to plan and raise funds for student travel to ANTEC 2008 (the society's Annual Technical Conference) in Milwaukee. He is also secretary and webmaster for the group.

Stroup held an internship at Tyco Electronics as an injection molding machine operator; more recently, he worked at Tech Group Williamsport as an operator on two injection molding machines and inspected parts for quality. After graduation, Stroup would like to earn a master's degree in plastics engineering before entering the workforce.
