Students, Alumni Invited to 'Show Your Colors' at Homecoming

"Show Your Colors" is the theme for this year's Homecoming celebration at Pennsylvania College of Technology; a variety of activities from a comedian and a car show to athletic events and networking receptions are scheduled from Oct. 8-12.
The public is invited to a number of Homecoming events: a flag football game at 9 p.m. Oct. 8 on the Athletic Field; a women's volleyball game at 7 p.m. Oct. 9 for "Jam the Gym Night" at Bardo Gymnasium along West Third Street; a Homecoming Bread and Pastry Sale to benefit the Student Leader Legacy Scholarship Fund, from 10 a.m. to noon Oct. 10 in The Market area of the Carl Building Technologies Center; a Powder Puff Football game at 6 p.m. Oct. 10 on the athletic field; and an appearance by Comedy Central comedian Tom Cotter at 9:30 p.m. Oct. 10 in the Klump Academic Center Auditorium.
Community participation also is welcome in an on-campus car show from 1 to 2:30 p.m. Oct. 11 in the College West Apartments parking lot. Sponsored by the Penn College Motorsports Association and the Student Government Association, the show will award trophies to the winner of each class: Hot rod, pre-World War II, 1950-60, 1961-70, 1971-80, 1981-90, 1991-present, truck (full size), truck (mini), Mustang, Corvette, Camaro, motorcycle (cruiser), motorcycle (sportbike) and dirtiest vehicle.
Pre-registration is $10 per car; registration will be $15 from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m. on the day of the event. For more information or to request a registration form, visit SGA online .
The School of Business and Computer Technologies will hold an Alumni Networking Reception from 6:30 to 8 p.m. Oct.10 in the Victorian House. Penn College graduates are invited to reconnect with former classmates and faculty members, discuss how their degrees are working for them, and reminisce.
A simultaneous event for fitness, nursing and radiography graduates of the college's School of Health Sciences will be held in The Gallery at Penn College (third floor of Madigan Library).
Alumni athletes are invited to a reception from 6 to 8 p.m. Oct. 11 in the Thompson Professional Development Center, following a full day of sports-related events.
A soccer doubleheader will begin at 1 p.m., when the Wildcat women take on Davis College, and continue at 3 p.m. with a men's game against Penn State Schuylkill. The homecoming court and senior athletes will be honored between games and, at halftime of the men's match, two recipients of the Outstanding Varsity Athletic Alumni Award will be introduced.
