The men, led by Mark Cordeiro (Canton) who finished the 8K run in 29:34, swept the top five places. For the Lady Wildcats, Tamara Pavlov (Lewisburg) finished second overall, covering the 6K distance in 27:48.GolfAt the beginning of the year, coach Chet Schuman said that he had a very talented group of golfers, and that was evident when they played at Penn National, home course for Penn State Mont Alto. "We were a player short and had an alternate team roster and played with a great deal of character and pride to preserve our winning streak by tying Penn State New Kensington with a score of 325," Schuman said. Host Penn State Mont Alto shot a 346 as the Wildcats extended their six-season streak to 155-0. "If you ask the players, none of them was happy with his play. But the fact that we were able to play shorthanded and still tie is a real testimony to this group of young men. It is also a wakeup call that we cannot sit on our laurels but must play very well to continue to win," Schuman said.

John Hook of New Kensington shot a 73 to claim medalist honors. He was followed by Penn College's Doug Wagner (Huntington Mills) with a 78 and Eric Schall (Jersey Shore) at 79. Also for the Wildcats, Kyle Shoultes (Sellersville) shot an 82, Ben Turner (Muncy) fired an 86 and Dean Bell (Schwenksville) shot an 89.

Men's SoccerPatrick Kehoe (Oley), Steve Lis (Elliottsburg) and Morris Sayon (Upper Darby) each scored goals in a win over Penn State Brandywine. The victory not only kept the Wildcats unbeaten for the season, but extended their two-season win streak to 21 matches.Women's SoccerPenn College outshot the College Misericordia Jayvees, 20-18, but couldn't find the back of the net in suffering their first defeat of the season by a narrow 1-0 score.Team TennisIn a shutout win over Penn State Mont Alto, double winners for the Wildcats were Shane Burridge (Ephrata), Austin Moran (Mount Joy), Robert Kemrer (Milton) and Rachel Emmons (Washington, N.J.). Against Penn State Brandywine, Burridge, Moran, Kemrer and Erica Logan (Montoursville) were victorious in both their singles and doubles matches.Women's Volleyball"Our ladies played very flat against Mont Alto and basically beat themselves physically and mentally," commented coach Bambi Hawkins. "The match against York was an opportunity to see more life in our team, and despite the loss, there was improvement in our team communication." According to Hawkins, Penn College's match against NCAA Division II Valley Forge Christian College was one to remember.

"Long rally after long rally led to a nearly two-hour match. After squeaking out a win in the first set with an overtime score of 27-25, the Wildcats dropped the next two sets and had to fight long and hard to overcome the consistently tough play of the VFCC team," Hawkins said. "Late in the fourth set, the Penn College ladies showed that they still had energy and were not going to give up. They rallied from behind to win the fourth set by the narrow margin of 25-23 and kept on rolling as they moved into the fifth set tie-breaker. "When the teams switched at the half-way mark of the final set, Penn College was up 8-3 and stayed strong to finish the set with a score of 15-10," Hawkins said. Alyssa Covas (Pottsville) was the standout with 21/21 for serving and two aces, 12 kills, 27 digs and three blocks. Lyndsey Smith (Mechanicsburg) also hustled for a perfect setting night 120/120 with 26 assists. Karlee Shubert (Hanover) added nine kills and three blocks.
