Brady L. Breon and Steven A. Wilson, both faculty members in the Pennsylvania College of Technology paramedic program, were honored recently at the Regional Emergency Medical Services Council banquet at the Genetti Hotel in Williamsport.
Breon was recognized as the "EMS Instructor of the Year," and Wilson was named the "Rescue Technician of the Year" for Lycoming County.
Breon has been an instructor in the paramedic program since 2003. In addition to his teaching, he also serves as the EMS chief for Jersey Shore Area Emergency Medical Services, fire chief for the Waterville Volunteer Fire Department, a staff paramedic with Susquehanna Regional EMS, and a flight paramedic with Geisinger Life Flight. In 2005, he was recognized as the "State Paramedic of the Year" by the Pennsylvania Emergency Health Services Council. He is pursuing a master's degree in health administration from Saint Francis University.
Wilson has been an adjunct instructor with the paramedic program since 2003. He provides laboratory and rescue instruction within the paramedic curriculum. He is employed full time as a flight paramedic with Geisinger Life Flight, is assistant chief with the Montoursville Volunteer Fire Department, is a Pennsylvania State Fire Academy instructor and is a member of the regional and state Urban Search and Rescue teams. He also is a Penn College alumnus, earning his bachelor's degree in applied health studies in 2005.
"Brady and Steve are both assets to the paramedic program," said Mark A. Trueman, director of paramedic technology at Penn College. "They are dedicated to producing a high-quality graduate and consistently receive positive remarks from paramedic students. Their respect within the EMS community is evidenced by their nominations for both of these honors."
