Big Brothers Big Sisters Experience Fine Dining at Le Jeune Chef
Friday, May 30, 2008
Children and mentors from Big Brothers Big Sisters of Lycoming County recently visited Le Jeune Chef Restaurant operated by the School of Hospitality at Pennsylvania College of Technology for the organization's first "Evening of Fine Dining for Bigs and Littles."
"For many of our Littles, this will be an experience they will remember for a long time, and was certainly a great introduction to the world of gourmet food and dining," said James H. Maule, chairman of the mentor development committee for Big Brothers Big Sisters in a letter to Le Jeune Chef after the May 14 event.
Le Jeune Chef provided the children's meals at no charge and offered a discount for their mentors. In addition to the eight-course dinner, Maitre d'Hotel Amelia A. Seaton made the evening an educational event, and Sous Chef Robert A. Armstrong visited the dining room to talk with the children following the meal. Twenty-six adults and 15 children attended.
