Ten members and two advisers of the Earth Smart club spent Tuesday afternoon cleaning a section of Northway Road in Loyalsock Township. This is the club's ninth year cleaning that portion of road. The club cleans the roadway twice a year once in the fall semester and again in spring. Participating members included a number of students in the environmental technology management bachelor-degree major seniors Katie Hoffman, Luke Larson and Aaron Hottenstein; junior Andrew Christoffel; sophomores Ryan Vanderlin, Zach Farr, Matt Updegrove and Corey Myers; and freshman Kristen Chase and Mary Jo Nonnemacher, a junior in the bachelor's nursing major. Highway cleanup was followed by pizza at Joe's Place. The advisers are Debra A. Buckman, assistant professor of environmental technology, and David L. Evans, professor of biology.
