The Office of Residence Life recently engaged in a community-service project with Grace Street Commons an assisted living facility in Williamsport. Paraprofessional staff members spent an evening with the elderly engaging participants in jewelry making, crafts, baking cookies and assembly of a curio cabinet. The program was a wonderful opportunity for Penn College students to bridge the generation gap and learn more about individuals in the surrounding community. The program provided a meaningful experience for residents of Grace Street Commons between the actions of paraprofessional staff of Residence Life and the impact on their community. The service project ended with a raffle of assorted Penn College mugs, hats and T-shirts that brought a big smile to the faces of residents. ( Photos provided by Office of Residence Life)
