Penn College's North Campus to Offer Basic Computer Courses

For those wishing to sharpen their computer skills and avoid winter boredom, Pennsylvania College of Technology's North Campus near Wellsboro will offer several easy-to-learn computer courses beginning in February.

The courses are taught by qualified instructors at a comfortable pace for all levels of adult learners. The small, noncredit classes are held from 6 to 9 p.m. in a relaxed environment allowing students to learn, experiment and ask questions throughout the evening.

For those new to computers, Introduction to Personal Computing will help participants become more comfortable with computers and master basic skills such as creating, saving, editing and retrieving files. The class will be held on Tuesday evenings, Feb. 5 and 12.

Microsoft XP will assist new-to-intermediate computer users in managing the desktop, folders and directories. The class will be held on Tuesday evenings, Feb. 26 and March 4.

Microsoft Word Level I will help the computer user to master the essentials of word processing, and creating, saving, formatting, editing and printing documents. The class will be held on Thursday evenings, Feb. 7 and 14.

Microsoft Excel Level I is helpful for those wanting to learn to create worksheets and manage data with functions and formulas. The class will be held on Thursday evenings, Feb. 21 and 28.
