Wednesday, November 28, 2007
Asesh K. Das, a professor of information technology in Pennsylvania College of Technology's School of Business and Computer Technologies, recently presented a paper at the 10th IEEE (Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers) High Assurance Systems Engineering Symposium at the University of Texas in Dallas.
In his paper, "Information Assurance Architecture with Storyboarding Models," Das discussed how storyboarding helps in understanding confidentiality, integrity and availability (the C-I-A triad) in information technology services.
Storyboarding a display of sequential images to visually convey a concept traditionally has been done by teachers and multimedia or movie designers, he explained, and, during the past few years, many technology companies and project managers have become seriously interested in storyboarding to integrate the interests of all stakeholders and making sound decisions.
Das has been a member of the Penn College faculty since 1994. He holds a doctorate from Visva-Bharati University, earned master's degrees from North Bengal University and Florida Institute of Technology, and has a bachelor's degree from Calcutta University.
