Web Scheduling Has a New Look

Thursday, November 1, 2007

When students start scheduling classes next week, they will notice Web scheduling will look and work differently. During the summer and fall semesters, Information Technology Services staff redesigned Web scheduling to be more user-friendly for students. This new design allows Web scheduling to work with any Web browser. The Web-scheduling option is located under "Academic Information" on the Student Information System .

One major change to Web scheduling is all current students eligible to use Web scheduling now will have to log on to the SIS to access the Web-scheduling option. Students will need to know theirPenn CollegeID and SIS personal identification number to access Web scheduling and schedule for Spring 2008 classes. Students should contact the Registrar's Office prior to their scheduling time if they have forgotten their SIS PIN.

The newly designed Web-scheduling option will allow students multiple ways to identify classes when addingthem to their schedules. Also, Web scheduling now will inform students if they meet the prerequisites or corequisites fora particular course prior to selection.

Another significant change to Web scheduling is the addition of "Quick Reference Links" that gives students the ability to search course offerings, view student profile, view adviser information and display official schedule information while in Web scheduling.

ITS and the Registrar's Office hope these changes better assist students when scheduling for Spring 2008 classes.
