Emery has been certified by the NBCC as a National Certified Counselor (NCC) since 1984. In 2002, he was awarded a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) credential by the Pennsylvania Department of State, Bureau of Professional and Occupational Affairs.
His LPC credential was renewed, for the second time, in February; he has applied for renewal of his NCC credential, which is expected to be granted in November.
Incorporated in 1982, the National Board for Certified Counselors is the nation's premier professional certification board, devoted to credentialing counselors who meet standards for the general and specialty practices of professional counseling.
