Penn College Homecoming to Feature Car Show, Donkey Basketball
Monday, October 1, 2007
The 2007 Homecoming celebration at Pennsylvania College of Technology will feature two events in which the public is invited to participate: Donkey Basketball on Thursday, Oct. 11, and the Penn College Homecoming Car Show on Saturday, Oct. 13.
All proceeds from the events will benefit the Penn College Student Leader Legacy Scholarship Fund − the first student-created scholarship fund at Penn College that is building toward endowed (permanent) status.
The Donkey Basketball game, sponsored by the Student Government Association, will be held at 8 p.m. Oct. 11 in Bardo Gymnasium on the main campus. Tickets may be purchased at the Bush Campus Center Information Desk or at the door prior to the game.
Members of the public pay $7 for admittance (which includes food and drink) or $3.50 for children 12 and under. To ride a donkey, participants donate $25 for a 10-minute quarter.
For the car show, members of the public can pay $10 to register their cars before the event (by Oct. 10) or $15 on the day of the event. Registration will take place from 9-11 a.m. Oct. 13 in the student parking area for College West Apartments at the west end of Penn College's main campus. The show will follow from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. in the College West parking area.
Classes for the show are: sport compact foreign, sport compact domestic, truck full size, truck mini, dirtiest vehicle, motorcycle sport, motorcycle cruiser, hot rod, pre-World War II, 1950-60, 1961-70, 1971-80, 1981-90, 1991-present, Mustang, Corvette and Camaro. A commemorative prize will be awarded to the winner of each class, and there will be a trophy for overall Best in Show.

The event is sponsored by the Penn College Motorsports Association, the Residence Hall Association and the Student Government Association.
