Under blue skies and on a perfect day for golf, the Penn College team shot one of its better rounds of the past couple of years Wednesday. The team's winning score on its home White Deer course was 303, followed by Penn State New Kensington at 317. The team was led by senior Shaun McQuay, who shot an even-par 72, followed by sophomore Matt Winder, 76; freshman Eric Shay, 77; senior Ryan Nornhold, 78; junior Doug Wagner, 85; and freshman Dean Bell, 88. The team placed four of its golfers in the Top 10; the remaining fell within the Top 14. The team will return to the links next Thursday when its members travel to Mont Alto to play at Penn National.
