Administrator Earns Fourth-Time Nomination From Former Students
Monday, August 27, 2007
Mark A. Paternostro, associate vice president for academic services at Pennsylvania College of Technology, was recently nominated for inclusion in "Who's Who Among America's Teachers and Educators" for the fourth consecutive year.
His biography will appear in the 11th edition of the book, which honors teachers who have been nominated by former students.
According to Educational Communications Inc., which publishes "Who's Who Among America's Teachers," the recognition program gives the ultimate consumers of education students the opportunity and responsibility to honor the teachers who have most significantly impacted their lives. Students listed in "Who's Who Among American High School Students," "The National Dean's List" and "Who's Who Among American High School Students-Sports Edition," which honor the nation's top high school and college students, are asked to nominate a teacher who has been most influential during their academic career.
Paternostro taught human anatomy and physiology courses at Penn College from 1994-99. After working at James Madison University, he returned to the college in 2001 to take the role of assistant dean of integrated studies before being promoted to associate vice president for academic services in 2004. He continues to teach at least one anatomy and physiology course each semester.
Paternostro holds doctorate and master's degrees from the University of Illinois; he earned a bachelor's degree from Kenyon College.
