College Hosts Health Careers Camp

Using a computer, participants practice inserting an IV in the nursing lab A surgical technology faculty member shows surgery on a simulated organ Suture practice Forty high school students a capacity crowd attended Health Careers Camp on Penn College's campus June 13-15, during which they attended hands-on workshops in many of the School of Health Science's laboratories. On the last day of the event, they toured Susquehanna Health. The college and Susquehanna Health partner to help students learn more about careers in the health and medical field, including some for which Penn College prepares its graduates: dental hygiene, emergency medical services, fitness and lifetime sports, nursing, occupational therapy assistant, physician assistant, radiography, and surgical technology.
