More than 1,000 students have petitioned to graduate in May from Pennsylvania College of Technology. The college will hold two commencement ceremonies May 19 at the Community Arts Center in Williamsport.
A ceremony will be held at 10 a.m. for students in the schools of Business and Computer Technologies, Health Sciences, Hospitality, and Industrial and Engineering Technologies.
A ceremony will be held at 2 p.m. for students in the schools of Construction and Design Technologies, Integrated Studies, Natural Resources Management, and Transportation Technology.
The student speaker for the 10 a.m. ceremony will be James R. Carpenter, Williamsport, who will receive a bachelor's degree in computer information technology-internetworking application development concentration.
The student speaker for the 2 p.m. ceremony will be Jesse T. Markeveys, Doylestown, who will receive an associate degree in heating, ventilation and air conditioning technology/mechanical systems.
The college will present several teaching awards, including the Veronica M. Muzic Master Teacher Award, the highest level of recognition for a Penn College faculty member. Excellence in Teaching Awards will also be presented. In addition, the college will present a Distinguished Alumna/Alumnus Award and an Alumna/Alumnus Achievement Award.
Degrees will be conferred by Penn College President Davie Jane Gilmour and Board of Directors Chairman Robert E. Dunham.
