The off-campus team wanted to set the tone early and did exactly that at Sunday's Powder Puff Football game against faculty/staff, according to a summary from Jeremy R. Bottorf, intramural/Fitness Center assistant: Liz Mast intercepted the first pass of the game, and the off-campus team drove downfield only to have Lisa Worth pick off an Amber Geckle pass at the 1-yard line. The staff/faculty team couldn't move the ball and the off-campus got it back and scored. Brittany Blessard took the pitch from Geckle and ran for a touchdown to make the score 6-0 off-campus after the first quarter. Blessard ran for another touchdown in the second; Kim Carbaugh took the ball in for the extra point and made the score 13-0 off-campus. Blessard then intercepted a pass and later ran in for another touchdown, giving off-campus a 19-0 lead at the half. "The Brittany Blessard Show" continued into the third quarter, when she ran into the end zone for her fourth touchdown of the game, making the score 25-0. Later in the quarter, Geckle threw a beautiful pass to Mast to make the score 31-0 after three quarters. Geckle again struck for the off-campus team, this time sneaking in with a quarterback keeper to give her team a 37-0 win. A huge thank you to everyone who helped out with this semester's Powder Puff games: Kevin Mix for supplying music and a microphone; referees John Haney, Anthony Flint, Robert Brown, Derek Rinaldo, Devin Leeper and Jamie Rottmund; andto Brad Robinson and Jeff Faherty for working the chains.
