Visitation Day, an opportunity for prospective students, their families and friends to learn more about Pennsylvania College of Technology, will be held Saturday, March 24.
Penn College is a special mission affiliate of Penn State, committed to applied technology education. Located in Williamsport, the campus enrolls more than 6,500 students the second-largest enrollment in the Penn State system following University Park.
From 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., visitors can attend general information sessions to learn more about the admissions process, financial aid, and academic programs and procedures. Student Ambassadors will lead guided tours of the main campus after each session. For those who have not yet decided on a career field, "Choosing a Major" sessions will offer assistance to potential students and their parents. Information also will be available for student housing (on and off campus), meal plans, athletics, disability services, and student organizations and campus life.
Students may learn more about their courses of study, meet with deans and faculty and check out other activities offered by the college's eight academic schools. Sample placement tests also will be offered.
Free shuttle rides will ease travel around the main campus, and free bus transportation will be provided to and from the Lumley Aviation Center at the Williamsport Regional Airport in Montoursville and the Schneebeli Earth Science Center near Allenwood.
Penn College offers bachelor-degree, associate-degree and certificate majors representing more than 100 career fields ranging from manufacturing, design, transportation, construction and natural resources to hospitality, health, business and communication.
Business and industry connections, including national corporate sponsors, are key ingredients of Penn College's "degrees that work." Small classes, industry-standard equipment in classrooms and laboratories, and faculty with industry experience contribute to strong graduate-placement rates, which exceed 90 percent overall and reach 100 percent in many majors.
Penn College is accredited by the Commission on Higher Education of the Middle States Association of Colleges and Schools.
