Over the past 15 years, Penn College has been a place where students and local residents can train in Shotokan Karate.
Under the instruction of George Vance, a sixth-degree black belt, students learn the basic principles of self-defense. This class offers training to everyonewho has a desire to learn karate.
Trainings are held in the Field House on the second-floor mezzanine from 7-8:30 p.m. Monday and Thursday. These trainings are FREE, and minimal costs would apply for the uniform (gi) or special training opportunities.
Special trainings with member clubs are available to all those who train. These events include tournaments, training camps, advancement testing and various social events.
As a member of the International Shotokan Karate Federation, the club adheres to a traditional form of martial-arts guidelines. Its members look forward to another year of training at Penn College and invited interested members of the college community to join them.
