Faculty Member Consolidates Management Textbooks for Online Use

Gerald D. 'Chip' Baumgardner An associate professor of business administration at Pennsylvania College of Technology was in the forefront of a major textbook publisher's latest initiative in distance education.

Gerald D. "Chip" Baumgardner was the lead writer for a McGraw-Hill project titled "Principles of Management Online," in which he consolidated the publisher's three bestselling "Principles of Management" textbooks into one usable online class that would be suitable for each of the books. McGraw-Hill expects a national rollout of the product later this year.



A frequent writer on online-education issues, Baumgardner holds a bachelor's degree from The Pennsylvania State University, master's degrees from Penn State and Shippensburg University, and a doctorate from George Mason University.
