Web Conferences: What to Do

Helpful information for employees or departments who wish to arrange a Web conference has been shared by Henryk R. Marcinkiewicz, associate vice president for academic affairs:

Professional Development lists a schedule of Web conferences inits printed catalog; it is not an exhaustive listing.These include online broadcast, phone call-in and group. Our language is in a state of flux; there are competing terms for this activity: Web conference, webcast, webinar, etc. To schedule a Web conference, please call Deb Dougherty at ext. 7912 for Professional Development to process your request. This includes documenting the event for possible salary-system credit, booking the room and alerting Information Technology Services for technical assistance. Participants will be asked to register and a roster will be provided. Any handouts or documents needed also will be printed.Currently, seven roomson campus are equipped with computer-supported projectors and telephones for multiple users (polycoms): SASC, Rooms1006 and 2001; Madigan Library Conference Room; the PDC Mountain Laurel, Tiadaghton and Slate Run rooms; and LEC, Room220.
