Award-Winning Drama to Be Presented Free at Penn College

A student production of the acclaimed drama, "Proof," will be presented free at Pennsylvania College of Technology's Klump Academic Center Auditorium this weekend.
Performances will be at 7:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday; doors will open each night at 7. The college's Student Activities Office is sponsoring the theatrical production, which is directed by Kevin A. Hickman, a physician assistant student from Benton.
"Proof" revolves around Catherine, a student mathematician who is afraid she is becoming more like her obsessive, mathematical and psychologically disturbed father, Robert. Can Catherine posses the inner strength to overcome her fear, start a relationship with Hal, and, more importantly, prove to her sister, Claire, she isn't insane? Intertwined in the drama is a proof of a mathematical theorem, Germain Primes the question is, who wrote it?
In the cast are Amanda G. LeClair, a dental hygiene-health policy and administration major from Reading; James Riedel, an automotive technology management student from Quogue, N.Y., and president of the Student Government Association; Jennifer M. Lauver, a graphic design major from Richfield; and Hickman.
"Proof" won the Pulitzer Prize and Tony Award for Best Drama in 2001.
